Betsy and Andre (spread)

Betsy and Andre had a wedding, and I was there to record the day. I made a spread.

Jude

Today was a day of repair. J. Jude had a bent part, and now everything is straight. Meanwhile, I’m older.

Business Time

This happened this morning.  After spending the night in a tent in the neighbor’s back yard, I made pancakes.  I made a lot of pancakes.

“Boxed” Performance

I invented an instrument and used it during a performance with opera singer Danielle Birrittella in The Wild Beast at CalArts.

From the program notes:

The box is comprised of a pair of triangular wooden instruments which act as a means to support a camera and a projector. The diamond-shaped space between the two allow for the inturruption of both the throw of light and the view from the perspective of the camera.  Graphic and scenic elements slide into the box from the sides by means of sliding glass panels, and from below through a system of levers and pullys.  The result is a visible sculpture capable of being manipulated during live performance to present a theatrical view from a single point of view – the camera.

I’ll be using it often in the coming weeks, differently.

Snow Covered

This image was created by photographing the effect of backlit flour falling onto my wife’s pregnant belly, and served nicely as the cover of our family’s holiday card.
